Photography 2010 Prediction
Digital photography is a snowballing at an unstopable rate. 2009 saw the beginning of DSLR with full-HD video feature. At the same time resolutions reached beyond the 20 megapixels boundary. The advances in technologies brings us naturaly to the higher level. Photographers are naturally the ones taking the advantages, which in turn benefits all photo enthusiats as well.
Resolution
In 2010 the resolution wars will not end. The highest resolution, though, will not pass the 30 megapixel mark. The development of digital back will also keep up, though the demand and sales will decrease. On the other hand, pocket camera’s resolution will be reaching 16 megapixels. Vendors, however, will exploits the benefit of 12-14 megapixel, as a more economical resolution.
Wireless Technology
2010 will see the beginning of wireless technology enroaching itself in the digital photography in masses. The speed of data transfer from camera to computers will become the next hurdles to solve by each vendors. At this time this technology is the niche of special purpose add-ons. 2010 will see wireless technology built into the advance-amateur and pro cameras.
Geotagging
Albeit the existance of GPS and the use of GPS for these purpose for a long time, 2009 sees the beginning of geotagging in masses, popularize by cellular phones. In 2010 we will see geotagging used in 1-2 pocket cameras. Geotagging will also make its way into DSLR. Combined with the now popular social networking, uploading photos directly from the camera to the Internet, complete with the geotag will become the norm in 2010.
“Made in China” Lighting
2010 will be the year for made-in-China lighting companies. Chinese made lighting will be even cheaper, widely varied and of higher quality. Distribution will also get more emphasis in 2010. After-sales service will also get further boost. As such this all spells for bad news for non-Chinese made lighting companies, which will be forced to cut-down on the number of employees.
These predictions are made in general, and objectif, thus no focus on specific brands. It is expected that we are not trapped in the frame of hardware-mindedness. The contents, the message, and the concepts of our pictures are more important than the hardware we use. The competitive nature of photographic industries will make it easier for us the photographers to do our jobs. In the end our consumers and photography enthusiasts will be more satisfied.
